Ambassador Application

Malo e lelei my name is Lotu and I would love to be an ambassador. I have one sister and three brothers. I want to be an ambassador so I can travel around the world and learn different things. The thing that I love doing is speaking in front of visitors and I want to show Mrs Burt that I can be the best person that can be chosen for the job.

Learning at Pt England has been a great way to know new things around the world. Learning here at Pt England helps me to learn things that I haven’t learned about and have been told about. What I’ve done to show my learning is that I created a painting that is called bridge over water lily. What I learned about the bridge over water Lily is that it is from a artist called Claude Monet. Claude Monet was born in France . He was a painter from the Impressionist era.

Good Friend

What makes you to be a good friend?
I will give you three examples about what or how to be a good friend to others.

First example is being there for them. Being there for them helps them to be or have confidence  for what they do. For a good example when one of your friend is upset go there and help and tell them you will be there for them everywhere, but if you just leave her or him there they will not like you so it is better if you play with them and be there friend for once more.

Second example is being polite to others. Being polite to others help them to be polite to others too. For example when out playing out side with some friends and they bully you is that a good idea “NO” I don’t think so, because when they bully you they will keep on doing it to you but if you hit them back they will know not to bully you again.

My third example is Lying to your friends. Lying to your friends doesn't make you a good friend that just makes you love lying all the time to people that you get told off from. A good example is when you get in trouble from a teacher and you tell the teacher that you got in a fight but then you told the teacher that it was Ly what will the teacher do to you there will put you on “DETENTION”. If don’t want to be on detention then all you need to do is to tell the truth.

Conclusion:

This is my three examples about what makes you to be a good friend.

Auckland Art Gallery

The Year 5’s went to the Auckland Art Gallery last week on Friday. We went there to learn about Art and to see what can move. There were a lot of  helpers for example: Alfa , John and Mrs Tepania. The first place our group went to was the Lego. The Lego was the best part, for me because you got to build a tower or name anything.

After morning tea, our teacher Miss Jacobson walked us to the second place and that was the studio. The studio was a great place because it had a lot of artworks, we had to use pictures and symbols to tell a story for example: A birthday,Christmas parade and a party.

Once we finished our lunch we went into the gallery and looked at some art. We saw a painting called the Fortune Teller. The Fortune Teller is a when curators tells story.

I felt really happy at the Auckland Art Gallery because we had a lot of fun and learned heaps of things.

Cross country

Has your school ever had cross country before? “Yay” it was finally the year five girls turn, I was really excited and nervous, In cross country i felt I put 100% effort in running. As I walked to the start line, I really felt excited at the same time .Before the race started we also had house cheers Takitimu (yellow), Te aroha (red), Tainui (blue) and Mataatua (green) . The team that I was in was Takitimu (yellow) and we ran around Point England reserve.

When Mr Burt called out “ON your marks get set GO! We ran around the cones and there were teachers and adults by each cone. So then we ran around them and straight to the finish line and I was really tired by then, so I went and had a drink.

I was really glad that cross country was finished. The part that I really loved was when we started around on the starting line. The thing that I most disliked was after the race because we just had to wait nearly the whole day. Next time I want to really try and push myself to probably 200% or more.

Floating and sinking

Introduction:
Do you know why objects float and why some objects sink? I am going to explain three reasons why some object float while others sink.
Here is some reasons why objects float. My reason why some objects float up on surface because some objects have air and some objects don’t have air.

Displacement is when  water goes through the side of the object. shape of an object that has been placed in the water will be up on the surface and will not go down.

Sinking:
I am going to explain three reasons why object sink.

Sinking means if a object is placed on the surface and when it goes down to the bottom. My second reason about sinking is when an object has been put on the water and that object that has been put the water when it sinks the water comes up to the surface. When an object has been placed in the water the object will sink to the bottom of the surface.
